Half Pint Full Heart Set to Launch Feb 27

Mip Power Trio Set to Launch Sophomore Album Half Pint Full Heart on Friday, February 27th

January 27, 2015 (Toronto, ON) – Toronto based rock ‘n’ roots band, the Mip Power Trio, is thrilled to announce the release of their long-awaited sophomore album, Half Pint Full Heart. The album will be available online and at selected locations starting on Friday, February 27th.

The Mip Power Trio is an honest yet edgy rock ‘n’ roots band that feels like a fun house party on a summers night. Since 2010 they have been gigging, touring, and recording while developing a sound that is unmistakably fresh and retro. Mip, Greg Kowalczyk, and Shane MacPherson are the trio’s colourful cast of characters showcasing a buzzing chemistry that is evident in their “fantastic live performance.” (Unsigned Radio, CUIT.FM)

On the evening of February 27th The Mip Power Trio will hold a CD launch party at the Bovine Sex Club. The bill will also feature local bands Little Foot Long Foot and Freeman Dre and the Kitchen Party.

Half Pint Full Heart was produced and engineered by Ian McGettigan (Joel Plaskett, Sloan, The Stars, Matt Barber) in the belated Parkdalean Soundspace. The album is a quirky collection of tunes ranging from the punchy surf and heartland-rock inspired “Breakthrough” to the gospel and ska influenced “Take Me Back.”
