Always thinking BIG in January!

Hey everyone!

I’m looking forward to 2013.  I think it’s gonna be a great year (of course, we all think of January as our fresh start, right?).  I don’t really have a New Years resolution this year, but I do have some goals.

1) Play more shows outside of Toronto
2) Start working on/hashing out a new album

For goal 1 I spent all afternoon checking out bands around the Guelph/Southern ON area.  A website called Music Lives was a great resource!  It listed bands and venues from around the area and all their contact info so I could check if the band was current.  My highlight discover from this website was a London ON based band called The Stragglers.

It also really makes me appreciate websites set up like the Phog Lounge (whom I admittedly have not had a response from yet).  But really, check this place out!  The website gives you a FAQ on how to book there, a list of Windsor bands, and even gives you a list of things to do in Windsor if you arrive early.  It’s hard enough booking shows independently where no one knows you (yet) so it’s really nice to see a venue encouraging artists from out of town to play.

The plans for goat 2…well I don’t want to start talking about them yet until I’ve talked to a few people.  It’s mostly talk right now.  But talk with a plan in mind can easily bring about action.  So I’m optimistic!

First show of January tomorrow at Not My Dog and I’m REALLY looking forward to kicking off MPT’s 2013 with a bash!

Peace and love (but not necessarily the hippie kind),

MPT

  1. I really love your site.. Great colors & theme.
Did you develop this website yourself? Please reply back as I’m looking to create my own site and would like to know where you got this from or exactly what the theme is named. Appreciate it!

    1. Hi – yes I did design it. I try to theme it for holiday/band events. If you would like more info please email me through the contact form on this site and I’d be happy to let you know what I did or even share the theme (minus the header)
