I am a working musician and songwriter who specializes in popular forms of music such as rock, pop, blues, and folk.  I teach guitar, bass, ukulele, vocals, and beginner piano as well as songwriting and arrangement (if that is in the something the student is interested in).

I’m also comfortable teaching music in group settings. I’ve coached bands through the process of writing an original song and performing it together. I’m familiar with a wide range of instruments and experience levels, and I enjoy helping groups collaborate, build confidence, and sound their best.

My lessons are student-centered. Instead of using a teaching curriculum (i.e. Royal Conservatory), I prefer to focus on what the student wants to learn and supplement it with selected theory and methodology texts. I may focus on a book to start if the student is a beginner.

I am currently available to teach in-person (Toronto only, at the student’s residence) and via Zoom. Re-occuring students will be given a link to a digital notebook with our lesson notes.
