Originally from Northern BC, Mip brings a small-town storyteller’s instinct to a fun, dynamic live performance.

Mip performs “raw and wild” art punk built on sharp songwriting and grassroots spirit, balancing resilience, humour, and heart. Through years of relentless gigging in indie venues and remote festivals across Canada, she’s built a devoted following and earned a reputation as one of Toronto’s best-kept secrets. Originally from Northern BC, Mip brings a small-town storyteller’s instinct to a fun, dynamic live performance.

As the primary songwriter, guitarist, and frontperson of the Mip Power Trio, she works alongside Greg Kowalczyk (bass) and Devin Jannetta (drums) to explore the strange mix of joy, struggle, and absurdity that comes with trying to make art in uncertain times. With two full-length albums, two EPs, and a new record on the way, the band continues to build a body of work that blends rock ’n’ roll grit with narrative-driven songcraft.

Mip approaches songwriting like a musical archivist, documenting the cultural moment with equal parts wit and curiosity. Her songs capture the tension between nostalgia and the present, from mixtapes to streaming, dive bars to algorithms, while chronicling the everyday realities of creative life: high rent, unstable work, long van rides, and the stubborn belief that music still matters.
